1945-54 Covers and cards bearing KGVI stamps, the study of rates and destinations including registered mail, air mail, postal stationery, forces rates, express, printed matter, 1945 (Nov 10) B.O.A.C first flight on the "Springbok" air service from Nairobi to Hurn with a G.B 1d applied at Sutton Coldfield, a few underpaid items, 1952 Royal Visit stamps, etc. An interesting lot, most written up on album pages. 1942 Commercial covers from Nairobi to the USA franked 1/- (3) and perf 14 £1 or 1/- strip of three and perf 131£4 10/- pair, both with censor seals and backstamps of Leopoldville. A little creasing to the stamps and faults to some 1/- stamps, two very unusual 23/- rate commercial covers. (2). Photo on Page 190.

1952 Large Post Office O.H.M.S registered cover sent by air mail to South Africa, franked by a single perf 14 £1 tied by Registered Nairobi c.d.s, bearing a Nairobi "A" registration label with four wax seals each impressed "TEMPORARY / No. 6 POST OFFICE". A very scarce single £1 franking on a commercial cover, most unusual with the Temporary P.O seals, backstamped upon arrival at Weenen.

1941-42 5c - 70c Surcharges on South Africa 1d - 1/-, separate English and Afrikaans stamps for each value, all with local type K4 "SPECIMEN" handstamps in black (5c - 20c) or violet (70c), mounted with hinges made from stamp edging to a piece, apparently part of a KUT Post Office document, very unusual. (S.G. £1,300 as pairs). (8 stamps).

1942 20c Envelope with fancy overlay inside and "All British" on the reverse under the flap, an albino impression of the embossed stamp cancelled by Voi c.d.s. Also the same envelope with the stamp in the correct orange colour fine unused. An unusual used albino stamp error. (2).

1895 Cover to England bearing 1895 British Inland Mail 4d with central violet "BRITISH / MAIL / 15 AUG. 95 / ANTANANARIVO" cancel (a further strike on the cover) and Natal 2 1/2d tied by Durban c.d.s, the cover with creasing to the lower corners and the Madagascar stamp, otherwise fine, an attractive combination cover. 1884-91 Straits Settlements 2c rose overprinted for Johor (S.G. 11, £120), Selangor (S.G. 22, £225), Pahang (S.G. 4, £24) or Sungei Ujong (S.G. 31, £140), and 24c with Perak 2c surcharge (S.G. 51, £75), all mint. S.G. £584. (5).

1898-1937 Mint selection comprising Straits Settlements 1898 $5 (poor colour) and 1913 $5 with olive back (S.G. 212b, £200), Kelantan 1911 1c - $25 set of twelve (S.G. 1/12, £225) and Perak 1935-37 1c - $5 set of 15 (S.G. 88/102, £225), also Sarawak 1891 5c on 12c used (S.G. 25).
