Cape of Good Hope. 1807 Entire to Providence, Rhode Island, endorsed "Cape Post Paid" with a good strike of the "Post Office Cape of Good Hope GR" Arms handstamp, landed as a ship letter at Holmes Hole, Massachusetts, endorsed "Holmes Hole, March 10, Ship". 1929 Green registered Ocean Letter envelope to Zanzibar bearing 1926 1d and 1927 2d, 3d cancelled by two strikes of the large distorted "ASSISTANT SHIPPING POSTMASTER / CAPE TOWN" datestamp (Allen type 9a) in violet, further strikes on the front and reverse, also backstamped at Zanzibar. A couple of small opening tears to upper edge, otherwise fine and scarce. Photo on Page 201.
