1780 (Feb 26) Entire letter from the Archbishop of Nicosia written and addressed in Greek, signed by the Archbishop in red ink, the reverse with a wax seal impressed with the seal of the Archbishop. Only the Archbishop of Nicosia and Patriarch of Constantinople in the Orthodox Church had the privilege of signing in red ink. Minor staining, possibly disinfected, otherwise fine and an interesting historical letter. Photo on Page 96.

1816-39 Entire letters to Marseille all with disinfection slits comprising 1816 entire letter to Pierre Roux endorsed "Par Cap. Bonnand" with a French rate; 1837 entire letter from Larnaca to Augusto Sarine with a Marseille c.d.s, boxed "PAYS D£OUTREMER", "Purifee a Marseille" and a French rate; and 1839 entire letter to the Public Health Office with "Purifee a Marseille" and cachet of the French Consulate at Larnaca, all fine. 1855-57 Entire letters from Larnaca to Genoa, one "per vapeur Rhone" with "Da Marsiglia / VIA DI MARE", Marseille and Genoa datestamps and blue oval "MCE ALTARAS NEVEU & CIE / MARSEILLE" F.A.C, rated £3£; the other with a large "6 1/2" charge mark, Trieste c.d.s and blue oval "F.E RITTMEYER & CO / TRIESTE" F.A.C. Two unusual letters sent via forwarding agents. (2).

c.1865 Stampless covers to the Turkish Governor-General in Nicosia with cachets of the French, British or Norwegian & Swedish Consuls, the first two with an oval cachet cut out and the resulting holes crudely repaired. (3).

1857 Entire letter to Livorno and part letter to Volo both with fine two line "LARNACA" datestamps and "FRANCA", with red crayon rates on the reverse and a diagonal cross on the address panel, the entire letter with a Livorno arrival datestamp and "P.D". (2). Photo on Page 96.

1865 Stampless Entire letters to Triest rated 20 soldi, both with cachets of the sender N.D Francudi e Figli and arrival backstamps, one with the Larnacca c.d.s, the other without the Cyprus datestamp, an unusual pair. (2).

1867 Austrian Levant 2s, 3s, 5s pair, 10s strip of three, 15s and 25s all with clear Larnacca datestamps, a fine group, the 2s and 25s very scarce. (9). Photo on Page 98.

1871 Entire letter to Trieste bearing 1867 15s tied by a fine Larnacca c.d.s, senders cachet on the front and a Triest backstamp, closed tear at right and some folds strengthened, a small hole in the address with the piece adhering to the inside flap. 1873-74 Entires to Triest bearing 1867 3s + 5s + 15s or 3s + 10s pair all tied by Larnacca datestamps, backstamped at the Lloyd Agency Smirne, Brindisi and Livorno, one with disinfection slits. Both items with side portions removed and the addressees name unfortunately obliterated by violet handstamps. (2).
