T.P.Os. 1930-86 Covers and cards (virtually all pre 1971), the collection mounted in three F.G albums, mainly very fine strikes, many philatelic though some are commercial, includes registered mail with T.P.O datestamps on the blank type registration labels (63), "Posted Without Late Fee" handstamps (172), first and last day services, a few bundle labels, C.O.Ps and some pieces. (Approx 490 covers).

1823 Entire from Bartfeld, Hungary to London endorsed "pr Wien, Brussell, Ostende & Harwich" with Bartfeld handstamp and endorsement and three differing "Charge" handstamps, orange "REGISTERED / (Crown)" (Willcocks L.1127) applied upon arrival in London. An early example of the first London Registered handstamp, only mail to or from abroad permitted to be sent by registered mail at this date.

Seal cut away and repaired tear at base, still an attractive and unusual 1/7 rate cover.

A very unusual and scarce cover, from the Vivien Sussex collection.
