Lebanon, 1943 ** Medical Congress 50P pair air stamp unoverprinted with mirror print. This issued was printed in offset but in this case the stamp was printed directly by the cylindrical negative matrix in copper, rather than from the face of the rubber cylinder that imported this "in positive" image from the cylinder in copper. Only one sheet recorded by Kaczmarczyk in its book. Signed P. Behr. SUPERB, AND VERY RARE IN M.N.H. CONDITION.

Lebanon, 1943 ** Medical Congress 50P air stamp unoverprinted and perforated 10½ with mirror print. This issued was printed in ofset but in this case the stamp was printed directly by the cylindrical negative matrix in copper, rather than from the face of the rubber cylinder that imported this "in positive" image from the cylinder in copper. Only one sheet recorded by Kaczmarczyk in its book and very few specimens perforated. Signed P. Behr....

Syria, letter sent from Jacob Ribero Henriquez & figli in Aleppo, dated 28/10/1738, to Nicolo Caragiani in Venezia. The commercial letter, written in Italian, arrived in Venezia on 26/2/1739 four months after. Charming and RARE early letter sent to Europe, after over two hundred years the Ottoman occupation that had resulted in the almost complete closure of the commercial traffics.

Syria, purchase receipt written in Alep on 29/3/1790 by Guerin & C. and sent in France as evidenced by the disinfection slits. NICE AND RARE DOCUMENT.
Lot #149 - syria
Syria, letter written in Italian in Lattakia on 18/5/1836 under Ibrahim Pascha period, sent to Genova, Italy, via Livorno as evidenced by the Linear mark and on the back the disinfection seal "LAZZARETTO DI S. ROCCO DI LIVORNO". Arrived in Genova on 17/8/1836 was taxed for 1,40 L. NICE AND RARE.
Lot #150 - syria
Syria, Italian letter sent from Antakia on 24/1/1849 and addressed to the Sardinian consul in Alep by the Tartar post. Written by an Italian missionary in Antakia with interesting content of a historical nature concerning the illness of King Carlo Alberto after the defeat and policy positions of Pope Pius IX. SCARCE EARLY MAIL FROM ANTAKIA.
