Lot #277 - Argentina postal history
GREAT RARITY: Cover mailed on 7/JUN/1944 from ESTACIÓN CLARAZ to Buenos Aires, bearing a 5c. Moreno stamp affixed at the CONFITERÍA IDEAL in that small settlement, and pen cancelled with the mailing date. The cover was carried by the "AVENIDA" bus company to Tandil, receiving an extremely rare cinderella of that company. It was delivered the following day to the Tandil post office, where the stamp was cancelled again with a circular datestamp...

The franking corresponds to the postage for a 21-gram letter carried by Air France, with 24c. basic rate + airmail surcharge of 18c. per gram. However the additional airmail charge of 4½c. required for the combination...

The franking of a cover posted on 24/JA/1970 was removed, with "ALGER GARE" postmark applied OVER the tear, and a hand-written inscription below: "parvenue avec figurine arrachée...

19 Receipts for "Contribución Directa" of the years 1905 to 1909 in different towns of the province of Santa Fe (for example Bigand, Chabás, etc.), with varied revenue stamps, some of high face value (some of 1,000P.!!), very interesting group, the receipts were made to members of the Bigand family, who paid taxes for large properties, one of them of more than 68,000,000 m2 (over 6,800 hectares!)
