Horizontal strip of 4, manuscript cancels, margins large to just in at bottom, second stamp showing a stitch watermark; some natural wrinkles and a couple vertical creases, F.-V.F. appearance, an extremely rare used multiple (NF $5,000), with 2016 MEPSI certificate.

Mexico, 1864, 1r-1p Hidalgo Issue complete, trial color large die proofs. On India on die sunk on cards, 1r, 2r & 1p composite die on full card (228x150mm) and 4r die on separate full card (152x226mm), each with A.B.N.Co. imprint below and matching pencil "26027" & "26026" respectively at lower right of card; former with a trifle hint of toning on card at left, Very Fine.

Mexico, 1864-66, 2r orange, Veracruz. Cons 26-1866, margins huge to just shaving, brilliant color, tied by superb strike of fancy Alvarado circular handstamp (Schatzkes 1767) with manuscript "Junio 8/66" date at center, on fresh folded letter to Cordova, Extremely Fine, one of the few towns in Veracruz the French army occupied.

Mexico, 1866, 7c lilac gray, San Luis Potosi, horizontal pair. In combination with 1866, 13c blue + 25c buff, cons 58-1866, all with ample to large margins, on 1866 folded letter to Celaya tied by San Luis Potosi cds's, Extremely Fine, a most remarkable rarity as probably no more than 5 tricolor covers are known, with 1998 Jaretzky and 2016 MEPSI certificates.
