Wilson & Co., Iron & Steel Merchants embossed cameo card on backflap, Very Fine, with C. Chase notes on reverse, ex-Wagshal.

1847, 10¢ black, two singles. Right stamp cut from piece and affixed with wax wafer, both tied by red square grid handstamps on 1848 double rate folded letter to Montreal, Canada, matching "New -York, Mar 11" cds and manuscript "9d" due rating, reverse with red "Montreal, Mr 16, 1848" cds, F.-V.F., with 2009 P.F. certificate.

1851, 1¢ blue, type IIIa, double transfer, one inverted. Position 81L1E, margins large to just in at right, tied by light grid handstamps on local November 1851 Lancaster O. printed insurance notice, Very Fine, this plate one early position is considered to be the finest example of the type IIIa, signed Ashbrook.
