Superb octagonal framed SOUTHAMPTON-FRANCE-MB datestamp in black alongside. London arrival cds on reverse of a rare cover. Signed Calves.

FRANCIA. Yv.49, 59. 1872. FORGES to SAVIGNY. 15 cts. bister and 80 cts. rose, endorsed ´Valeur Declare cent francs en un billet de banque´ and strike mark CHARGE. Very fine and RARE franking.

FRANCIA. Ce.33, 57. 1874. Registered cover front at high 9 franc rate from BORDEAUX addressed to the Captain of the ship ´Magellan´ at NOUMEA (New Caledonia) franked by 1871-75 80c. rose carmine (5, including two pairs, one with small rounded corner fault) and rare usage of 1869 5fr. grey all tied by ´532´ gros chiffres. Red charge box at top and framed ´PD´. A RARE piece. Cert. ROBINEAU.

FRANCIA. Ce.T25. 1895. Cover sent stampless to ALEXANDRIA at double weight (mss. ´2 ports´ at left), taxed on arrival in Alexandria by France Postage Due 50c. lilac pair (one defective on application (Dec 25). Cover then sent to PORT SAID (Dec 30) and eventually sent back to ANNONAY where rare Postage Due 1fr. brown-claret was applied and tied by (March 22, 1896). Extremely rare stamp on letter.

ARGELIA. 1876 (Feb. 23). Cover from ORAN to MASCARA franked by MARSEILLE POSTAL FORGERY Ceres 25c. bright blue (as Ceres 60); uncancelled and manuscript ´Exécution de la loi du 16 Octobre 1849´ in red ink at right. Oran cds alongside and reverse with Mascara arrival (Feb. 25) and charged ´4´ (40 centimes ) in manuscript. Extremely rare cover. Certificate ROUMET.

GUADALUPE. 1850 (July 27). Entire letter from Petit Bourg to France with fine strike of ´PETIT BOURG´ cds in black and unique strike of framed ´P.P.´ in black alongside. ´Basse-Terre´ cds at right and thence via London (Aug 19) with red ´Colonies &c. Art 13´ and Delle arrival cds on reverse. A remarkable and rare entire.

GUADALUPE. Ce.3+5. 1870 (Jan. 6). Cover to BORDEAUX franked by General Issues 1859/65 Eagle 10c. bistre and 40c. vermilion sharing bold strike of very rare lozenge of 64 dots struck in red with matching GUADELOUPE / BASEE-TERRE datestamp alongside. Underpaid for double weight and taxed with initial ´7´ in red and over-scored in black, with framed AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT in red below. Small part...

INDIA FRANCESA. 1865 (Oct 26). Cover from Pondichery to Toulouse franked by 1859-65 40c orange pair cancelled by black dotted lozenge, fine strike alongside of ´Inde/Pondichery´ cds and red ´Col Fr./Suez Amb´ (Nov 26). Flap missing but an attractive cover. Ceres 5.
