Jamaica. 1916-19 Covers sent locally franked War Stamp 1 1/2d (5, one with overprint inverted), three 1/2d War Stamps (S.G. 70 pair + S.G. 68) or 1d + War Stamp 1/2d and Red Cross charity label on a Myers advertising envelope; cover to USA with 1d + War Stamp 1 1/2d; and registered covers to USA or Sweden franked at the 4 1/2d rate by War Stamp 3d + 1 1/2d (2 covers) or 1 1/2d strip of three. Jamaica. 1930 (Dec 10) Registered Jamaica to Miami first flight cover, seven stamps paying the 1/2 rate including 1917 1d War Stamp (S.G. 74) with greatly misplaced overprint reading "STAMP / WAR", unusual.

Malta/Gibraltar. 1918-19 Covers bearing Malta 1d + War Tax 1/2d, one cancelled at Cospicua with a triangular army censor, also a 1d postcard to USA (mail to foreign countries being exempt from the 1/2d War Tax); and a 1918 postcard to England bearing Gibraltar 1/2d War Tax pair, handstamped "T" as the 1/2d postage had to be paid by an ordinary stamp, the "T" mark obliterated and a red Paid datestamp applied upon receipt in London. Other Colonies. 1917-20 Covers with various War Tax rates paid by ordinary postage stamps or War Tax overprints, from Bermuda (4), Gold Coast, British Guiana (4), British Honduras (2) or Ceylon (5, including an internal registered cover with 1c pair + War Stamp 1c on 5c + War Stamp 3c block of six), also a mint Ceylon 2c War Stamp with overprint double (S.G. 330b). King Edward VII Land 1d mint block of twelve, a few tiny stain spots on the reverse, otherwise fine mint, lightly mounted on the upper row of four stamps only, the other eight stamps unmounted, superb appearance and a great rarity. The KEVII Land stamps were not sold to the general public and only about 5% of the 24,000 printed stamps are estimated to have remained unused; this block is the largest known mint multiple of this issue. New Zealand 1d Universal booklet pane of six (S.G. 303b) and a single 1d booklet stamp all C.T.O with the FE 27 08 c.d.s, the pane with a few small stain spots, otherwise fine, very scarce and unusual used with the Antarctic Expd. c.d.s. (2). Photo on Pages 84 & 108.

1908 (Feb 3) Cover with "BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION 1907" printed on the flap, sent to Masterton, New Zealand, with KEVII Land 1d tied by the Antarctic c.d.s. The second expedition mail, the c.d.s used at the expedition£s base at Cape Royds on McMurdo Sound, the mail sent back on the "Nimrod" which departed on February 22nd for Lyttelton. Unobtrusive tears at upper and lower edges, otherwise fine, about 550 letters carried on this mail....

1908 New Zealand KEVII 1/2d postal stationery postcard with a 1d universal added, backstamped with the FE 3 08 Antarctic c.d.s applied at the expedition base at Cape Royds, the card carried back to Lyttelton on the "Nimrod" and then posted from Lyttelton to Christchurch, cancelled by two Lyttelton squared circles. The card rather stained with a small tear at upper edge but unusual.

1908 (Feb 27) Cover with "BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION 1907" printed on the flap, addressed to W.A Moore c/o J.J Kinsey, with KEVII Land 1d tied by the Antarctic c.d.s in green with a second strike alongside in black. This c.d.s used on the "Nimrod" on its return voyage, only known on unaddressed covers or covers to Kinsey. A scarce combination of green and black datestamps. The upper third of the cover a little toned, otherwise fine....

1911 (Feb 9) Large cover with "BRITISH ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION TERRA NOVA R.Y.S" printed crest on the reverse, addressed to Wellington by the Assistant Postmaster Lt. Francis Drake with Victoria Land 1d tied by the Antarctic c.d.s, backstamped at Lyttelton (Mar 31). Tear at upper edge, otherwise fine, one of 58 letters sent on this date to addresses requested by the Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Dept. at Wellington.
