Lebanon Military, British airgraph of Broumana origin, to Hasting, England. The original message of commercial character dated 6/10/1943, was censure by French and photographed to be reduced to photo-film and sent in England. Then the film was developed and the letter sent to the destination on 4/12/1943. But "Undelivered for Reason Stated": "Gone Away", forces the postal administration to send back the message that arrived in Broumana on13/9...

Lebanon military mail. French Military Discharge Certificate for the end of campaign in the Levant (Beyrouth 1946). Signed by General of Division Gustave Borgnis Desbordes, high commander of Levant's troops. One of the last official traces of the French presence in Lebanon. IMPORTANT AND RARE DOCUMENT.

Lebanon. Cover sent from Beyrouth 6 (Longo catal. fig 12 pag. 68) on 14/7/1922 to USA. Franked for 3 Piastres by 1P and 2P stamps, the last show a flaw in the overprint: the word “Syrie” printed very lightly. SCARCE ON COVER.

Lebanon. Receipt of a telegram to Istamboul sent from Beirut on 28/10/1922. The A.D.P.O. revenue of 50ct used to pay the receipt fees, was killed by the Ottoman Octagonal cancel "BEYROUTH 1" UNRECORDED by the Longo catalog. Most likely this postmark is used only on telegrams and related receipts.

Lebanon. Cover sent from Zghorta (Longo catal. fig 1 pag. 195) on 23/7/1924 to Germany via Beirut (back transit on 24/7). The cover was taxed because the stamps with overprint only in French had been replaced by those overprinted also in Arabic and accordingly, the stamps affixes was considered valueless. INTERESTING.

The cover was introduced by the sender directly in the letterbox, forcing the postmaster to affix the justificatory seal "Trouve a la Boite" (in the Longo cat. the cover was used to illustrate the fig 5 at pag. 210). RARE SEAL USED.

Lebanon, Paquebot. Advertising cover of "Messageries Maritimes" (in back flap) sent from Beirut to England, franked with "Richelieu" french stamp and posted on an French S/S. The cover was unloaded to the post office of Beyrouth R.P. on 22/11/1935 (back mechanical cancel, illustrated by Longo cat. fig 44 pag 76) and from there reloaded on the same steamer ship. SCARCE.

Right franked for 5 Piastres by twenty copies of 10ct and four copies of 75ct of Piastres stamps. In arrive received the cds "A.U.B." dated "29/7/40/9.00" rarely used in the register office of American University of Beirut. It is not a stamp's postmark. VERY NICE AND SCARCE.
