Second sale in a series of 3 offering pieces from a beautiful collection of Argentine stamps now being broken up, full or rarities and fine items, generally of outstanding quality. This collection was built over several decades by a dedicated collector who managed to assemble a notable group of rare stamps that are seldom seen on the market. Provisional stationery envelope of 5c. + GJ.97 strip of 4 + 98, total postage 8c., sent from Buenos Aires to Montevideo on 10/NO/1890. This cover was written by Francisco P. Moreno to Carlos Berg, his fellow traveller to the sources of the Santa Cruz river, Lago Argentino lake, when that area was "discovered" by the white man. Very interesting historic-philatelic piece!
