This special stamp auction is dedicated to WORLD RARITIES. We are proud to be able to offer worldwide unique items, but of course Philatelists with reduced budgets will find superb stamps, covers and lots as well.

Item nr. 474: SAMOA, horizontal pair 3 d. on 25 Pfg., unused without gum, right stamp without surcharge. The only recorded example of this spectacular variety. Provenance: The Marquess of Bute. Attest Scheller (2015), Attest BPSB (2004),

Item nr. 477: ITALY - SARDINIA, 2 stamps 5 c. olivegreen 1854, together with 40 c. dullrose, extremely superb franking on a small complete letter with content. The stamp 40 c. with FIRST DAY CANCELLATION "CHAMBERY 3 DEC 54", the 5 c. stamps cancelled with red "P.D." each. This letter is the only known FDC of the Sardinian 40 c. stamp. A Unique world rarity. Item nr. 475: KAMERUN, British Occupation, end June 1915. 1 d. on 10 Pfg. red, with blue overprint C.E.F. shifted to top, bottom sheet marginal from lowest row. Unmounted mint, original gum. According to Gibbs only 1 sheet of the black overprint known. In blue a discovery. Possibly the only surviving example of the 10 copies originally forming the lowest row of the sheet. We are detailing a superb collection named “Central Switzerland” with over 140 stamps and covers from the Swiss Cantons Lucerne and neighbour cantons. The items from the so called DURHEIM ISSUES (Orts-Post, Poste Locale, Rayon I, II, III) convince of their outstanding quality. Supplementary from the same collection we are happy to offer the beautiful and rare HELVETIA‘s without and with perforation (Strubel, Sitting Helvetia, Standing Helvetia).
A complete and very rare collection of Airstamp Precursors on official postal cards from the year 1913 are offered in the section “Swiss Airstamps”. These fine items are rarely seen in such a superb quality in an international stamp auctions.

Main emphasis in the 15. International Stamp Auction, April 12th, 2012

Rarely offered envelopes and postcards of the ZEPPELIN AERA including POLAR TRIPS, letters of the LIECHTENSTEIN ZEPPELIN CONTRACT and SAAR ZEPPELIN CONTRACT with exceptional rare frankings. For instant a postcard from 1910 showing the FIRST SWISS AIRSHIP STATION LUCERNE and the so called PRALL (BLIMP) LUFTSCHIFF (item nr. 614) is on offer. Only 30 covers of the Liechtenstein Zeppelin Contract with drop in St. Gallen (item nr. 615) have been forwarded and only a few of these jewels have survived.

Incoming correspondence of the years 1940 to 1950 of an international enterprise from SIAM, THAILAND and MALAY STATES (Straits Settlements, Singapore, Japanese occupation etc.) to Switzerland and outgoing in the same period from Switzerland to Asian countries including SIAM, CHINA, BURMA, SINGAPORE, MALAY STATES etc., repertory for rare frankings. This is a postal history collection. Many have travelled lengthy, complicated and exotic routes, and the letters passed through many hands during war time. The quality of the covers cannot compare with modern first day covers.

The 15. Auction offers superb items from SWITZERLAND, especially Rayon, Strubel, Helvetias on granite paper, as well as unique covers from AUSTRIA, LIECHTENSTEIN, GERMANY and other European and worldwide countries (CHINA etc.)
