Red all-over design on rebacked cover front to Baltimore Md. bearing 10¢ green, type V (35), s.e. at right, tied by "San Francisco, Cal., Apr 13, 1860" cds, hand drawn man's face illustration in the same pen as the addressee in upper left corner; some cover tone spots, Fine.

Vanderbilt Line, For San Francisco, C. Vanderbilt, Agent, New York. Illustrated steam liner company agent corner card on orange 1853 cover to Monticello, N.Y., entered N.Y. on the steamship Star of the West from Nicaragua and entering the mails with "New York, Ship, 7cts, Mar 2" integral ship rate cds; some edge wear at sides, Very Fine, a very rare corner card cover sent shortly before the named changed to the Nicaragua...

Via Nicaragua, Ahead of the Mails. Blue boxed handstamp on cover to Washington, Pa., franked with 1851, 3¢ dull red, horizontal pair tied by "New - York, Apr 26" cds, with matching "Due" and "10" rate handstamps for double rate letter, with top portion of enclosure datelined 1854, Very Fine.

Clear full strike of oval handstamp on 1854 cover to Providence, R.I., with matching "6" in oval rate handstamp, entered the U.S. mails with "New - York, Ship 7cts, Apr 7" cds, with original enclosure datelined "San Francisco, July 16th, 1854", Very Fine, a very scarce usage bearing the seldom seen oval "6" rate handstamp, ex Knapp.

Black on yellow label affixed to 1861 3¢ Star Die entire (U26), addressed to Carroll, Hoy & Co. in New Orleans, La. during Civil War Union Occupation, endorsed "Paid Through" and "Paid"; usual pinholes, otherwise Very Fine, ex Dale-Lichtenstein.
