Welcome to the Carriers & Locals Society's 37th Auction. This sale offers nearly 400 lots of United States Carriers, Locals, Independent Mails, Expresses and Western Postal History, together with collections, group reference lots, bogus and fantasy material, and specialized philatelic literature.
This auction is open to both members and non-members, with only a 10% buyer's premium.
Building on the success of last year's first-ever live sale, Auction 37 returns to our state-of-the-art auction platform with a LIVE auction on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Bidding is open now, and absentee bids may be placed online at any time before the live sale. On sale day, the auction will be conducted in our Live Auto-Clerk format. Lots open one at a time for 20 seconds, and if a bid is placed with under 10 seconds left, the clock resets with an additional 10 seconds to allow for further bids until the lot closes.

Created for MGM Studio for the 1940 film "A Letter for Evie." Facsimiles were printed to comply with United States law making it illegal to reproduce official stamps. Listed in the Lyons Identifier.
Lot #112 - Misc, Collections, Groups, Bogus and Fantasy
Four album pages of Hussey's Post, New York, running from the 1854 Letter City Post types through the Bank and Insurance Special Message issues, the S.M. Post horse and rider designs, the Special Message issues of the late 1870s and the Time Posted pairs. Several dozen singles and multiples, largely unused, including a block of ten of the Notice Delivery Office design and a block of ten of the 5c S.M. Post.
Lot #113 - Penny Post
Stampless folded letter with a manuscript "Paraclifta Arks." postmark, manuscript "Paid" and a manuscript "10" in an ornamental circle. Addressed to Mrs. Juliet Tompkins, care of Mrs. C. Latimer, George Town, District of Columbia, and endorsed along the left edge "The Penny Post at G.T. will please deliver this to Mrs Latimer." A manuscript note on the front records the letter as received in 1850.
