1928 Death of General Chang Tso-lin (Zhang Zuolin), Manchurian Warlord,an original press photograph reporting the death of General Chang Tso-lin, Manchurian warlord and former ruler of North China, who died from wounds after his train was bombed in May. The image confirmed his death and marked the rise of his son Chang Hsiao-liang (Zhang Xueliang) as successor.

1932 Marshal Feng Yuxiang Press Photograph,Chinese Nationalist leader Marshal Feng Yuxiang (馮玉祥) at Tianjin railway station on his way to Nanking. The image was taken during a period of heightened military tension following Japan’s troop reinforcement in North China.
