Cover mailed during the Ching postal rate reduction period - 1903 (Jan 5) red band cover from Shanghai to Tsingtau,f.w. a single CIP 1c (correct rate 4c), tied by Shanghai bisected cds with “T” due marking, and on reverse struck with red boxed “Shanghai Sanho No. 8 Letter Cabinet” handstamp. Carried by sea and arrived at Tsingtau on Jan 11, showing Tsingtau/Kiautschou arrival. Manuscript “15” denotes postage due of 15 pfennig to be collected...

1904 red band cover from Huangkang, Kwangtung registered to Peking,f.w. CIP 2c & 5c on reverse, tied by Huangkang lunar year cds. (甲辰冬月十五日), alongside with Chihli lunar Year arrival cds. (臘月). The coexistence of both 「冬月」and「臘月」datestamps on the same cover is highly unusual. The front additionally shows the framed handstamp「 保家/黃岡第137號」further enhancing its rarity.
