Lebanon French, letter sent from Beirut on 30/6/1871, type E cancel (fig. 43 Cedar catalog) and "Paquebot De La Mediterranee" red framed, to Lyon, where arrived on 13/7/1871. Because of the lost war against Germany, France was forced to increase postal rates which increased twice since the day after (from 1 July 1871 at 80ct). LAST DAY OF 40ct RATE, VERY RARE AND INTERESTING.
