The text of the letter is of commercial nature, with a paragraph mentioning "the withdrawl of the enemy from Salta, it is said they have plundered that city and taken some women, desecrated temples", etc. It also mentions the "siege of Jujuy...". Cover sent from Buenos Aires to France on 12/MAR/1867 by French mail, franked with 1.60Fr. (pair of 80c. Napoleon) with "small anchor" cancel, octagonal mark of the French consular agency, red rectangular "PD" (paid to destination), on back there are arrival marks and a couple of interesting French due marks, very attractive!
