1921, Saud-Afrika 3s booklet, black on salmon-pink cover, containing 12 x ½d (SG 3w), 12 x 1d (SG 4w), and 12 x 1½d (SG 5w) in panes of 6 (all with inverted wmk). Slight cover imperfections and some perfs trimmed as nearly always, still much above average  [N.B. This is a later example with the '1½d' rates on the inside and back covers overprinted with a '2' by handstamp]. cat £500

Spain 1947 MiNr 949, SG 1019 10 pesetas King Juan Carlos I, imperforate with large bottom margin. Original gum, never hinged (MNH). Catalogue value: €280.

Switzerland 1843 Canton of Zurich 6 Rp black numeral design with horizontal red underprint (No. 2W, Type 3), single on white envelope addressed to Mr. Mayor Zuppinger in Eichthal,  tied by a rich red Zurich rosette cancel (AW No. 1) with matching red dispatch datestamp “Zurich 20 Nov. 1847.”The stamp, position 23 in the 100-stamp sheet, displays vivid colors and clearly visible underprint lines, full to over-margined on all sides, in flawless...

Switzerland 1850 Rayon II 10 Rp (yellow/black/red, no frame around cross; Scott 8 / Zumstein 16 II , SG 10) on folded letter to Schwyz, 18 June 1851 afternoon, (indicated by reverse “Z” datestamp), tied by the Zurich ‘Rosette’ (black Swiss cross within ornamental quatrefoil). On the back are two circular postmarks—one in blue ink and a faint second strike.

Switzerland 1851 – Rayon I, Zst. 17 II Type 22, C2 (RU) on Folded Letter
A classic Rayon I cover, franked with Zst. 17 II Type 22, C2 (RU), cancelled with a blue Swiss lozenge. Certified genuine by Kurt Trüssel, Swiss Philatelic Expert (SBPV), Luzern, 17 May 1995, Prüfungs-Befund No. 10584.
The stamp is fresh in color, well to broad-margined, and neatly applied on a clean, attractive folded letter. Exceptional condition throughout...

Switzerland 1945 Pax issue 3 Fr. deep violet (Scott #303), MNH. Fresh, well-centered example in Very Fine condition, featuring the floral "Helvetia with Flowers" design. MNH

Uruguay, 1860 120c Blue "Sunhead" on Entire to Argentina
1859 "Sunhead" Issue, 120 centésimos dark blue (1860 printing), wide clear margins Scott No. 16;  SG 18. tied by oval Montevideo dispatch cancel dated 24.10.1862 on folded letter to Buenos Aires.The reverse bears the expert signature of Díaz Paulos; a comparable cover with this franking realized €280 at David Feldman (2021).

1944 WWII military airmail cover and V-Mail airgraph, marked “War & Navy Departments V-Mail Service” and “Official Business.” Postmarked 1944, sent stampless by Earl F. Farr S/M USS Mt. Makinley to Mrs. Arnuld Barham, Holyoke, Mass. 

USA, 1931 Registered Cover from Chicago Ridge to Lilly, Illinois, bearing multiple franking canceled by rare lily-shaped handstamps, likely locally carved. Circular datestamp on reverse: CHICAGO RIDGE, ILL. OCT 7 1931 A.M.; addressed to W.H. Gilley in Lilly, IL. Large “REGISTERED No. –8–” handstamp on face. An attractive and unusual example of small-town postal artistry.
