Levant Lebanon, Venetian mail written in "Berut" on "9 luyo 1512" and sent to "Hillustrissimo et generoso Jmarco Fanni & compagno Merlino Tripoli" (Illustrious and generous Jean Marc Fanni & Merlino company Tripoli). Fascinating and rare letter of five hundred years old.

Lebanon Austria, envelope sent from Beirut on 29/4/1869 to Livorno, Italy. Mixed franked by 3 green and 15 soldi brown Eagle stamps perf. 9½ and 10 soldi blue Levant stamp. The envelop has travelled via Brindisi on 16/5/1869 where was affixed also the seal "PIROSCAFI POSTALI ITALIANI, arrived in Livorno on 21/5/1869 the same day. Exceptional mixed that B. Lebanon Austria office, triple rate Register cover sent from Beirut on 14/3/1895 to a French capitan based in Douchain, nord France. Franked for 160 paras, equivalent to 4 Piastres, by block of twenty 8 paras stamp (Michel n 20A, perf. linear 10¼x10¼). Cancelled by the fig. 10 of Cedar catalogue. The largest recorded block of this stamp still kept on its original envelope. B. Longo photoexpertise. VERY RARE.
