1887 Piece cut from a Money Order form with Edinburgh M.O.O c.d.s dated DE 23, obliterated by a Maltese Cross and replaced by a DE 24 c.d.s. A remarkable late use of the Maltese Cross handstamp.

London. 1874 (Feb 18) Large part Queen Anne£s Bounty circular bearing 1870 1/2d tied by the small "683/E" experimental cancel with four central pins, no backstamps but dated within the letter, a very late use of this scarce experimental cancel in London. Also single 1d reds (2, one with some trimmed perfs) and 6d chestnut plate 11 all with the same cancel. (4). Photo on Page 22.

Liverpool. 1856 Stampless entire letter from Switzerland charged 8d and 1857 cover from USA charged 1/- both showing the same Liverpool dotted datestamp with code "AI", the 1856 example in blue. Also two 1857 covers showing Liverpool datestamps with two dotted arcs at base, the town name now in solid lettering. (4).

Sutterton. 1843 (Feb 2) Entire to London bearing a 1d red (two margins) tied by a Maltese Cross with "SUTTERTON / (crown)" mailbag seal handstamp applied below the stamp, backstamped at Spalding and London. A rare and unusually clear use of this mailbag seal on cover, with R.P.S Certificate (1984). Photo on Page 22.

1852 Wrapper to London with a 1d red (4 margins) tied by an intaglio mailbag seal handstamp, the wording very unclear as is usual for these handstamps, backstamped at Stafford and London, the cancel therefore possibly also Stafford. A scarce cancel.

London. 1858 (Feb 25) Printed entire letter to Cardiff with a 2d blue tied by rectangular boxed "2" within horizontal bars roller cancel, London and Cardiff backstamps, a small area of toning on the address panel, otherwise fine. Also a single 1d red with a fine part strike of the same roller, and a piece with QEII 2 1/2d tied by a proof impression of the "75" in diamond roller. Possibly the only known cover with this "2" roller, which is...
