Imperforate colour proofs of the background design in brownish-green on thick wove paper, without gum as issued, two blocks of four, in fresh and very fine condition. Scarce.

Error of colour, 10 pa. black/rose instead of green, se-tenant  between two 20 pa. in a horizontal strip of three from the first issue perforated 13½ in 1881, fresh, unused. The left-hand 20 paras with a small repair, otherwise very fine. A spectacular and rare variety, caused by the insertion of a 10 paras cliché in the 20 paras plate. Signed Calves.

5 pa.-5 pia., complete set of the Corpi & Glavany private issue made in Constantinople, each value imperforate in vertical tête-bêche pairs (the 20 paras with two pairs), unused with original gum. The 1 piastre slightly shaved at left and the 10 paras with a light horizontal crease, otherwise fine to very fine. A scarce and attractive assembly, with accompanying copies of opinions Karaivanov (2001) and Hitzler (2003)

Type I in blue, 10 paras green/light green, perforated 11½, a block of 25 unused with original gum, mostly unmounted mint. Some perforation separations and a few hinge reinforcements, as to be expected for a delicate multiple of this size, otherwise fresh and fine. Rare. Certificate Hitzler (2004)

Type I in blue, 10 paras green/light green, perforated 11½, fresh colours, variety double overprint showing exceptionally crisp and deep strikes, fine. A rare stamp. Signed Bernichon and certificate Hitzler (2004)

Type II in blue, 5 paras lilac/pale lilac, perforated 13½, block of twelve, unused with original gum, mostly unmounted mint, showing two initial strikes of a red trial overprint at positions 1 and 12, each subsequently corrected by two further impressions of the handstamp in blue, the latter almost perfectly superimposed upon the original red strikes. Minor perforation separations between the third and fourth stamps, together with a few...
